Storytelling a Marketplace for Developers
I don't even know if you're allowed to do this in Internet-world, in this fashion, but I want to call out DHH and say how inspiring he is. At least in my opinion. DHH invented Rails, as in Ruby on Rails, which has not only changed the way people develop Ruby, but has changed how people develop web frameworks in general. In how they develop the web that connects us all, on which you are reading these words.
Sorry, I like to get meta. Anyway also DHH has great style. I feel like I should be President of the DHH Fanboyz club. Is that a thing? If that's a thing I would join it, if not I would found it, how's that for a crush??? Get a room, am I right??
Which, let me tell you, if we're really getting to know each other, is...not who I am.
I don't look up to many people. I look up to DHH.
So anyway I think to myself, how can I reach out to DHH in a way that he will ultimately find flattering, to discuss asking him to invest in the platform on which he is reading this.
My job is now to market this product. This platform - indydevs. To market it, I need a good story. If you - DHH - invest in us - this will be the centerpiece of our PR strategy. Telling everyone about us.
So, consider this my practice in story-telling.
